American Gold Eagle

American Gold Eagles were first created in 1986. They are now the most popular bullion
            coin in the world.

The design for the obverse side of the coin came from the $20 St. Gauden's gold coin of
the early 20th century. The reverse of the coin has the design of a bald eagle swooping
into a nest holding its family.

Gold Eagles are made from gold mined only in the United States. The coins are 22 karat's
of gold with other alloys added for hardness.

The Gold Eagle has an advantage over other gold bullion coins. That advantage is that the
United States government guarantees the gold contact, weight and purity. Because of this,
the coins can be bought and sold anywhere in the world.

They are among the most commonly traded gold bullion coins on the market.
