South African Gold Krugerrand

                The first gold bullion coin minted for investment, the Krugerrand is the most widely
                owned bullion coin in the world.

                The obverse has the image of Paul Kruger, the first President of the South African
                Republic. These bullions coins are the least expensive of all the gold bullion coins. Also
                on the obverse is the name of South Africa in Afrikaans and English, 2 of South Africa's 11
                languages

                The reverse has an antelope prancing across the coin. The date of issue, purity and
                amount of gold are also on this side. This 22-karat gold coin has no face value, as it was
                minted primarily to be traded outside of South Africa.

                Each Krugerrand is 91.70% gold and 8.30% copper. The South African Mint was privatized
                in 1988 is now a subsidiary of the SA Reverse Bank.
